Spring meadows full of colour

Welcome to our natural home

Greece has the largest biodiversity in Europe with over 6000 species, 900 of which are endemic. With a wide range of natural environments, from alpine meadows to seashore wetlands, the Parnon National Park is home to 109 endemic flowers and a huge range of wildlife, such as otters and golden jackals. It also abounds in insect life, particularly butterflies.

We have helped over the past 3 years to research and support the writing of the Guide to the Butterflies of Parnon National Park. This is now available for a donation…let us know if you would like a copy.

Insect life is happy and well here in our natural organic environment

Nature at its best

Most of our area is organic with no use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. This means we have a huge range of wild flowers, insects and wild life in a thriving local habitat.

We know where to find many of the 22 species of orchid and they each have their own time and place.

We often see tortoises young and old wandering on the mountain. They are easy to spot, unlike the golden jackals and otters we also have.

We also come across a wide range of snakes, most of which are completely harmless to man.

We also regularly see golden, bonelli and short toed eagles soaring on the thermals
